Moment in Oddity - The Venezuelan Poodle Moth (Suggested by: Ruth Dempsey)

Deep within the misty rainforests of the Gran Sabana region of Venezuela, a creature exists that blurs the line between insect and stuffed animal toy. It was discovered in 2009 by zoologist Dr. Arthur Anker. The scientist gave the moth the playful description of 'Venezuelan Poodle Moth'. The cute, captivating creature looks less like a typical insect, and more like a miniature, winged mammal covered in a dense coat of snowy, cotton-like fluff that you want to cuddle. Its large soulful black eyes and beautiful arched, feathered antennae give it an eerily endearing expression, capturing the imagination. Because scientists have yet to officially classify it or observe it extensively in the wild, this mysterious lepidopteran remains an enchanting biological enigma that certainly is adorably odd.

Vortex 29 

As we have found from our episodes featuring ghost towns and locations in the desert of California, Nevada and Arizona, the desert is a strange and mysterious place. There is a home in Desert Center, California that seems to be sitting on a vortex created by the convergence of three deserts. The owner of this home is a woman named Daphne Minks and from the moment she stepped inside of it, she knew she wasn't alone. As she set about repairing and renovating the house, she felt as though unseen entities were helping her. She named this home Vortex 29 and she joins us on this episode to share her experiences.

We have found the desert to be a strange place, so it isn't surprising that Desert City has some quirks and that this particular home seems to be quite active. Hopefully Season 2 goes better for Daphne and reveals even more about the entities at Vortx 29. Is Vortex 29 haunted? That is for you to decide.
